Mia's Sixth Day in NY
Today is Aug 27. We went to Central Park in the morning from 10:00 to 15:00. We walked for a long time to enjoy the time. The weather was cloudy but nice for us to take a walk there. We took pictures on the grass and had a great time . When we felt tired, we took a rest on the bench in the park. I wonder why the animals weren't afraid of people.
Next, we walked along the fifth Ave. to see many stores. I liked the Disneyland store. There are many cute toys. At eight o'clock in the evening, we went to see musical "PHANTOM". I cried when the actor sang the last song. It was really touched.

Mia's Fifth Day in NY
We went to see a new musical MAMMA MIA! That was wonderful! Ashly actually cired out after seeing it. I felt touched when I heard the mom sang the song for her daughter.
Then we walked along the fifth Avenue to see St. Patrick's Cathedral. We also saw Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Terminal. We ate dinner in teh Grand Central Terminal. We want to go to Yankee store,but it was closed . After it, we went to Empire State Building. The ticket fee is 18 because we are students . It is worthy to see the nightseeing on the top of Empire State Building.
Mia's Fourth Day in Ny
Where will we go today ? One of the most famous museum in the world is Metropolitan Museum of Art. Just a word described my feeling. That is "amazing". Then we go to Central Park. But the park is quiet big , we just walk along the lake for a while. We decided to Yankee Stadium. To our surprise, the price of the ticket is so high, 80-130 dollars.

Mia's Third Day in NY
At eight o'clock in the morning, we arrived at Battery Park to buy the tickets to Liberty Island. The Status of Liberty is a gift from Fance. I took a lot of pictures there. Then we went to the Ellis Island. At that time, we all were a little tired, so we went to Friday Restaurant to eat a big lunch. I ate 29 dollars a meal. I ate a lot of meat. Not to waste food, I finished all the food. We also went to Trinity church(三一教堂), through the busy street to see busy people walking fast. We went to the 21 Century Department Store . At about evening , we arrived at Washington Squre Park for a rest, listening to some people singing, relaxing ourselves. In addition, New York University is near the Square. We found Carrie's Home erywhere and bought some cake in Magnolia Bakery(木蘭烘培坊). We ate the cake in the oppsite of the Bakery. Along the street, there were beautiful street sight and shops.

Mia's second day in NY
Today we went to shake shop in (麥迪遜) Madison Square Park to buy famous hamburgers. And you see the tall building ,it is Flatiron Building (熨斗大廈). The bridge is Brooklyn Birdge . The night sight is really beautiful. But it was rainy when we crossed the bridge. We can see status of Liberty from the bridge. The church is Saint John Church(聖約翰教堂). We also went to Calumbia University.

Mia's First Day Trip in NY
It was a far and tiring way to NY. We carried too many baggages and overweight. We had to take something out . How tiring it was! We went to Time Square the first night . It was a big difference between in Detroit Southfield and in NY. There are crowded and the street is busy . I had wanted to visit NY for many years. My NY Trip Dream finally came true. And it just begins.

We all felt sad when we saw Sid going to leave us . Ashly and I cried again.Thanks a lot, Sid . You don't only teach us reading but also give us ideas. We never forget you sang in class, how you described the word we didn't understand, and the snack you brought us every class. Your encouraging remarks inspired confidence in us.

Mia's assignment(The Sixth Week)
1. What do you see in the future in regads to technology and educational technolony ?
- I think in the future students in middle school will bring their laptops to school like us doing now. They deal with homework or take classes with their own laptops.
- Techers can be provided more software about curriculum they teach to help them teach in class. Next semester in my school, I will have a digital textbook. The digital textbook have some functions to help teachers use it in class conveniently.
- I think software that helps stuents learning in class will be designed more than now. Maybe students will have a fictitious teacher on the computer to solve their problems and remind them to do homework.
2. If you were granted 20000 US dollars to use in your school for educational technolnoy , how would you use it ?
- I will use it to buy new computers for the computer room and to buy online encyclopedia and online books.
3. How would you use portfolio (thinks about grants,raises,change in position , like the building techie,etc.
- I will use my portfolio to introduce my experiences of different jobs, to list out my work that I designed , to share my career plan , to show my family life to let them know more about me and to prove my ambition and enthusiasm about work.
4. What would you or have you included in a portfolio --think back to the one you needed to create for Undergrad and /or to get your current job (this can be paper or electronic or a combo)
If I am just an undergrad , I will put the following in my portfolio.
- My formal picturer in the cover.
- Introduce myself , including my graduate school ,virtue, weakness,hobbies,my personal information...
- Make my video about me to introduce myself.
- List what clubs I have joined during the university.
- Introduce professional lessons I have learn in the university.
- Share the thinking or opinion about what I learned in school.
- List the competitions I have entered in the past.
- List how much I know the work.
- List what I have done or planned for the job before I enter the company.
- List why I want to apply for the job.
- What I expect to myself after I get the job.
- List what I think about the development of the company in the future.
- List what I suggest to the business.

Wivik can help the students who aren't able to use physical keyboard. So I think it can help my students that can't use keyboard well. They can use it to write down the answers on the paper sheets. In addition, it can help the students who can't speak clearly. If you type a word,it can help you say it out. Even the regular students can use it to type English articles, and they can hear the sound they type in the computer. They can practice typing and train their listening.

Mia's assignment (The Fourth Week)
1.How can you use Multimedia in your classroom ?
*I usually create my handouts with powerpoint for students. The blackboard is too high for me,so powerpoint really helps me a lot. And I save much time to write information on the
blasckboard,then I can walk around the classroom to see my students what they are doing.
*When I taught reading ,I find the videos or audios of these materials for students. They were impressed by them.
*Before class, I often play some flash about English jokes for them. If they behave well, I 'll give a reward of playing videos for them.
*I have used students' own pictures to make some media shows to teach them grammars.
2.What do you want to use Multimedia in your classroom ?
*I want to use publisher in my teaching. Every year of Mother's Day, I can ask students to make cards with pulbisher for their moms.But all words have to be in English.
*I learned some new functions about powerpoint from Stacey. That excited me. I want to do more cooler designs in my powerpoint handouts.
3.How do you a digital camera/scanner or other multimedia devices in the classroom ?
*I often use digital camera to take some pictures from grammar books. I am poor at painting,so
I took pictures directly from books. That's really helpful for me.

* I'll put all the information of my students about their first names,last nams,
ages,addresses,telephones ,parents' names,hight, weight,hobbies, favorite
subjects,their pets,best friends,sex, the signs of zodiac ,the subject of low
achievement,primary schools , primary school teachr's name , religions and
mother language and skills they have . Then I can sort the information I want.
2. How do your students use database ?
* My students don't use database.
3. What else do you like to do with DB ?
* I 'll input information of my family, friends, classmates, and colleagues.
Then I can search the data what I want , like making a list of their birthday
on the same day.
* I'll let students create database about English vocabularies they learn.
Then we can sort the information about words. We can have our own
"Word Band".

*I use EXCEL to calcute students grades and to make school report cards.

I use it to make a syllabus, a lesson plan,worksheets, and create tests. Also, I use it to create place cards for the classroom.

They use them to keep a diary, contact with their teachers, and do homework.
3. What else would you like to do with WP? think in terms of students tools/ assessment as well as teacher productivity.
I think teachers can design their assignments on the blog or put them in the blog, then ask students to write correct answers in the blog. They can share experiene of learning each other, or ask teachers questions with it. Maybe some shy shtudents can be more active in learning.
